A NEW VIEW OF FAITH AND ACTION

With this post I inaugurate a second blog for your edification and enjoyment. (The first one is www.thetencommandmentsoncapitolhill.blogspot.com.) I reserved this space more than a year ago, but it's taken me this long to rearrange my schedule to allow more writing time.

My purpose for this site is to give you the "flip side" of Faith and Action's work as your Christian missionary outreach to elected and appointed officials on Capitol Hill. For everything you see happening at Faith and Action through our E-mail Alerts, Website (www.faithandaction.org), newsletter or even out there in the media, there's a lot more that happens behind-the-scenes. There are just too many prayers, too much hard work, and too many people to write or talk about in our conventional outlets.

So, if you like to know, as Paul Harvey says, "the rest of the story," this is the blog for you! About once a week--probably Thursdays--I'll post the details at this site. I'll tell you HOW God did what He just did. (If I know!) That may sound arrogant, but look at it another way: When Cheryl and I were raising our kids, we told them, "Never be afraid to ask how God does something. Whenever God moves, it is awesome and dedazzling. But for everything awesome God does, there is ten times as much awe in how He does it."

Here is where I'll tell you what went on BEFORE the big breakthrough happened. I'll tell you WHAT we prayed BEFORE we went public. And, I'll tell you WHO God used to bring something to pass. Sometimes I'll include what's happened SINCE you read about in the newspaper or saw it on the television news.

Reading the behind-the-scenes stuff will build your faith to believe God to do great things in your life and in your sphere of influence. I like to say, If God can do it here--among the most powerful people in the most powerful capital of the most powerful nation on earth--then He can do anything anywhere!

So watch this blog weekly for the "other side" of Faith and Action!

Now here's the first juicy behind-the-scenes tidbit: Cheryl and are finally going on vacation! We're headed south to a gleaming white beach on the Atlantic coast for some much needed R&R. I'll start posting when we get back!
