Faith and Action

A behind-the-scenes commentary on the work of Faith and Action--America's only Christian mission to elected and appointed officials located across the street from the U.S. Supreme Court and in the heart of Capitol Hill!

Location: Washington, D.C., United States

I was raised in Western New York (state) in a non-religious home. As a teenager I searched for spiritual truth and found it in Jesus Christ. Today I'm an ordained Evangelical minister and missionary to elected and appointed officials on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. I invite you to join me in reminding our top government leaders that we are all equally dependent on and accountable to an Almighty God!

RECLAIMING THIS BLOG!

As you can see, I haven't posted to this blog in a very long time. I'm hereby reclaiming it! I haven't decided what to do with it yet. (My other blog is tencommandmentsoncapitolhill.blogspot.com.) Check back to see what I decide. Maybe this is the place to post my deepest secrets and most profound thoughts. Maybe not.

Here's an idea: What if this became the laboratory for working out messages, sermons, commentary, etc? In other words, by reading and posting here, you would be part of my soul / brain trust! If you like the idea, say so. We'd deal with some very hard issues: sexuality, political theories, theology, doctrine and dogma, etc., etc.

I'm leaving the Post Options wide open.

With regards to the article on Obama, many are having a hard time accepting him, not because of his ethnicity, but because of his far-left politics. However, as you will see in my comments below, there is hope as God has promised to take over after Obama settles into the White House. Also, my reply to "How Soon We Forget" (below) follows.
I think we are in for tough times ahead evidenced by the fact that God, Himself, has decided He will take over and run our country during this next term of office. Be glad it is God -- and not Castro!

o God said because He is a "jealous" God, He, Himself, is the One that will take the oath of office and lead us, and He, Himself, will sit in the White House and call the shots. God promised He, Himself, will rule our nation in the days ahead. Isn't this what we have always wanted? Remember, God got mad at the nation of Israel because instead of God, they wanted and asked God for a king. So He gave them what they asked for and had nothing but wickedness, trouble, heartbreak and hardship thereafter.

o God said He is about to "trick" our nation by putting someone into the White House that prays, though he doesn't make a public declaration of God before going in. God said He "will do a very unique thing:" The incumbent will be filled with the Holy Spirit after settling into the White House.

o God says He is doing this to pull down the spirit of prejudice and racism in this nation. Who knows, maybe this is to help prevent or settle a coming civil war in the days ahead; like during the time of President Lincoln. I sure hope there won't be civil war, however, it is in the Bible Codes as a possibility. It is also certainly possible we will reach a boiling point due to the tremendous influx of illegal immigrants into the country who are taking our jobs, retirement funds (social security), etc.

o God said to watch the next two years and see how strong He (God) is and how He (God) will prove Himself in the political arena. God said He, Himself, will be our President. God said to not fear because this is His nation and He, Himself, (not the incumbent, but God) will change things according to the time and season.

o God further stated He will "shake" us by showing He can take ungodly men and make them godly overnight. He said those who call themselves 'righteous' are sometimes not so righteous and those who claim to 'have religion' have nothing but religion.

o God said that He will not allow the White House to be defiled. Consequently, there will be three Christian presidents coming in the future. [Per numerous prophecies through Kim Clement, who prophesied accurately over President Bush, Rudy Guiliani, and many others in Washington, DC, since the mid-90s; who was paid a surprise visit by President Bush to his home in 2004; whose prophecies were so accurate the Secret Service asked him not to post certain ones so as not to tip the hand of terrorists.]
Regardless of one's political choice it is always heartwarming to know such things as prayers for presidential candidates occur behind the scenes. Whoever wins, God is in control. He raises up one and puts down another:

5] "Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. 6] For promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. 7] But God is the judge: He puts down one, and sets up another." -- Psalm 75:5-7 (King James Version)

"The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: He turns it whithersoever He will." -- Proverbs 21:1 [KJV]

"That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children...Deuteronomy 17:20 [KJV]

Subj: how soon we forget......

In the late 1950s, citizens of an island thought their country needed a change, and they were right. So, when a young leader came along, every individual of the island was at least receptive. When the young leader spoke eloquently and passionately and denounced the old system, the press fell in love with him. They never questioned who his friends were or what he really believed in. When he said he would help the farmers and the poor and bring free medical care and education to all, everyone followed. When he said he would bring justice and equality to all, everyone said, "Praise the Lord." Moreover, when the young leader said, "I will be for change and I'll bring you change," everyone yelled and cheered!
But nobody asked about the change, so by the time the executioner's guns went silent the people's guns had been taken away. By the time everyone was equal, they were equally poor, hungry and oppressed. By the time, everyone received his or her free education it was worth nothing. By the time the press noticed, it was too late, because they were now working for him. By the time the change was finally implemented Cuba had been knocked down a couple of notches to Third-World status. By the time, the change was over more than a million people had taken to boats, rafts, and inner tubes. You can call those who made it ashore anywhere else in the world the most fortunate Cubans.
Luckily, we would never, in America, fall for a young leader who promised change without asking, what change? How will you carry it out? What will it cost America? Would we?
