SETTING SAIL FOR THE FUTURE--LITERALLY!
Your missionary from Washington, DC, Rob Schenck, reporting:
I'm in beautiful San Francisco staying with a wonderful couple who are great friends of our ministry, Len and Ann. (I generally leave off last names to protect our donors' privacy.) From their home I have a spectacular view of the Bay, Alcatraz Island and the San Fran skyline.
In the course of seeking their counsel on the future direction of Faith and Action, Len offered to take me sailing aboard his 43-foot sloop. I had only been on a sailboat once before but that time I paid not attention to what was going on around me. This time Len explained the science--and art--of sailing and it was fascinating! Take a look at my video from aboard ship:
We finished our Utah itinerary earlier this week with a visit to tiny Pleasant Grove City, site of the Ten Commandments monument at the center of an upcoming--and potentially historic--Ten Commandments case. (Check out our Weekly Photo Feature.)
Tomorrow I head for Denver, site of the Democratic National Convention. I'll be doing some speaking in the area, media interviews and commentary, and, of course, blogging--so be sure to check in!
