Faith and Action

A behind-the-scenes commentary on the work of Faith and Action--America's only Christian mission to elected and appointed officials located across the street from the U.S. Supreme Court and in the heart of Capitol Hill!

I was raised in Western New York (state) in a non-religious home. As a teenager I searched for spiritual truth and found it in Jesus Christ. Today I'm an ordained Evangelical minister and missionary to elected and appointed officials on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. I invite you to join me in reminding our top government leaders that we are all equally dependent on and accountable to an Almighty God!

STANDING IN LINE

I'm standing in line thumb-typing on my Blackberry here at my polling station to vote. I arrived at 5:15 AM (opens at 6:00) and there were already 50 people ahead of me. A few more arrive every minute. Please make plans to go to your voting site earlier in the day. Consider taking the day off--or at least half of it--to go midday, as evenings will be the worst!

I hope I can vote in the first 30 minutes because I have to catch a flight to New York City to anchor a European news network. They've asked me to offer commentary on the US election from a Christian perspective. Please pray that the Lord will open (to quote St. Paul) "an effectual door of ministry" to me.

Last night I went to bed with the blarring sound of Barack Obama's final rally vibrating our home. His last stop in Manassas, Virginia was just beyond the tree line behind my house. They're saying it was the largest crowd ever on the nearby fair grounds. It reminded me just how consequential this election will be.

I hope you've read my articles on voting at our website--and before voting, try to give a listen to my 13-minute Bible study on How To Vote. I think it will help you and others.

OK, the line is starting to move. If I have time, I'll try to post a video report today. Watch for it.

Bye for now. Be back . . .
